As for refund - yes, you can’t call up your bank for this and currency is not backed by country’s government.
It’s your responsibility to keep your money safe.
Is there something bad to take responsibility for the your life to yourself? And should whether the government to back the criminal stupidity?
Sure, Bitcoin has some problems yet (and also with volatility and speculations) and people work to resolve them.
But as Ev Bogue said in his blog: "what scares me more is sticking with our current financial system".
